Katherine Heigl is on the cover of the April 2, 2010 Entertainment Weekly Magazine. In her interview with the mag she talks about her decision to leave Grey’s Anatomy.
On leaving the show: “I’m done. We just finalized our agreemen. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”
On why she asked to be let out of her contract 18 months early: “I started a family and it changed everything for me.”
Heigl, 31, took a three-month family leave from Grey’s after adopting her daughter Naleigh.
On deciding not to appear in this season’s final five episodes, like originally scheduled: “I know I’m disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one.”
